Founder & CEO, The Mother Earth Effect | Bestselling Author | Award-Winning Co-Producer | The Earthing Ambassador

“Rooted in nature. Rising in peace, purpose, and power.”
— Olivia Ramirez Smith
Recognized for bringing together nature, wellness, emotional mastery, and storytelling to help people—especially women—reconnect with the Earth and themselves.
A Life’s Work Rooted in Connection
Sometimes a life’s purpose doesn’t arrive all at once.
It grows quietly through years of experience until seemingly separate chapters begin connecting into something larger.
For more than two decades, Olivia Ramirez Smith has explored the relationship between personal well-being, emotional health, nature, and human connection.
Today, she is known as The Earthing Ambassador, an award-winning co-producer of The Earthing Movie, bestselling author, wellness entrepreneur, and Founder and CEO of The Mother Earth Effect LLC.
But the roots of her work began long before the books, documentaries, retreats, and conversations that now carry her message to a wider audience.
They began with women.
Seventeen Years of Listening to Women
Before The Mother Earth Effect became a company and growing body of work, Ramirez Smith spent 17 years owning and operating a wellness center and spa.
Working closely with women gave her a front-row view of something that would ultimately influence the direction of her life: physical wellness and emotional well-being are deeply intertwined in the way people experience their lives.
Women arrived carrying more than what could be seen from the outside.
They carried responsibilities, stress, expectations, relationships, dreams, and sometimes emotions they had been holding onto for years.
Those experiences helped deepen Ramirez Smith’s interest in women’s empowerment and eventually led her to additional training in the emotional and behavioral dimensions of personal growth.
She became a Master NLP Practitioner, Master Hypnotherapy Practitioner, and specialist in Mental and Emotional Release (MER).
But another connection was becoming increasingly important to her.
Nature.
Discovering the Power of Grounding
Grounding—or Earthing—is the practice of making direct physical contact with the Earth’s surface, such as walking barefoot on grass, soil, or sand.
For Ramirez Smith, what began as an interest became a defining part of her professional mission.
Her work brought her more deeply into the Earthing movement and eventually into opportunities to help people experience grounding firsthand, including work connected with The Chopra Center.
As her involvement grew, she became known as The Earthing Ambassador.
Her message centers around something remarkably simple: in lives increasingly dominated by screens, schedules, indoor environments, and constant stimulation, reconnecting physically with nature offers an opportunity to slow down, become more present, and reconsider our relationship with the natural world.
That connection would eventually become the foundation for much of her work.
Bringing the Story to Film
Ramirez Smith’s work reached a much larger audience when she became an award-winning co-producer of The Earthing Movie.
The documentary explores Earthing, the people behind the modern grounding movement, personal experiences with the practice, and research surrounding the relationship between the human body and the Earth.
For Ramirez Smith, film provided a powerful new way to communicate.
A conversation that once happened with individuals could now reach people around the world.
The project became an important part of her evolution from wellness entrepreneur to producer, educator, and advocate for reconnecting people with nature.
The Mother Earth Effect
Eventually, another medium became part of the journey.
A book.
Published in March 2026, The Mother Earth Effect expands the conversation through personal stories and perspectives centered around nature, grounding, resilience, and transformation.

With a foreword by Mariel Hemingway, the book brings together the voices and experiences of contributing women who each share their own perspectives on nature, grounding, personal growth, and reconnection.
Among those contributors is Tammy Mitzka-Crawford, founder of Unlocking Freedom in Nature and Art, who contributed a chapter sharing her own experience and perspective on the transformative connection between art, nature, and life.
The collaboration reflects an idea at the heart of Ramirez Smith’s work:
Sometimes one person’s story opens the door—but many voices help create a movement.
Building a Body of Work Through Books
The Mother Earth Effect is part of a growing body of work connected to Ramirez Smith’s mission.
She is also a contributing co-author of the #1 bestselling Sacred Spaces: Subtle Shifts for Mind, Body, and Home Transformation, a collaborative book centered around creating meaningful transformation in our internal and external environments.
The book received the Books for Peace International Award, extending its message into a broader conversation around well-being, connection, transformation, and peace.
Through publishing, Ramirez Smith has been able to extend ideas that began through wellness and personal experience into stories and resources that can continue reaching people long after a conversation or event has ended.

From a Message to a Company
As the work expanded, so did the vision.
Ramirez Smith founded The Mother Earth Effect LLC, a wellness and education company dedicated to helping people—particularly women—reconnect with nature and themselves.
Her work brings together education, books, documentaries, products, community, personal development, and experiences centered around grounding and connection with the natural world.
It is a significant evolution from the wellness center where her journey began.
But the underlying mission remains remarkably consistent.
Help people reconnect.
With their bodies.
With their emotional well-being.
With nature.
And, perhaps most importantly, with themselves.
Creating Experiences Beyond the Page
Ramirez Smith has continued expanding her work beyond books and film into experiences designed to bring women together in nature.
Through retreats and other immersive opportunities, she encourages women to step away from constant digital stimulation and create space for grounding, movement, reflection, connection, and personal renewal.
It represents another evolution in her work.
A film can introduce an idea.
A book can deepen it.
A conversation can inspire it.
But sometimes people need to experience something before it becomes part of their lives.
For Ramirez Smith, bringing people into direct connection with nature creates an opportunity to move an idea from something we understand intellectually into something we actually experience.
Rooted in Nature. Rising in Peace, Purpose and Power.
There is a thread connecting each chapter of Ramirez Smith’s journey.
The wellness entrepreneur.
The practitioner.
The producer.
The author.
The advocate.
The retreat leader.
The entrepreneur building The Mother Earth Effect.
Each represents a different way of communicating essentially the same invitation:
Reconnect.
For Ramirez Smith, nature isn’t simply scenery surrounding our lives.
It is something she believes we are meant to experience directly. And in a world that continually asks people to move faster, consume more information, and remain constantly connected digitally, her work asks a very different question:
What might happen if we reconnect with the Earth—and ourselves?
An Ongoing Conversation Through Tuesday Talks
Olivia Ramirez Smith has been a returning guest on Tuesday Talks: Unlocking Freedom in Nature and Art, joining Tammy Mitzka-Crawford for multiple conversations over the years around Earthing, nature, wellness, personal growth, and the evolving work of The Mother Earth Effect.
Their connection extends beyond the interviews themselves.
Mitzka-Crawford is also a contributing author in The Mother Earth Effect, bringing her own perspective on the relationship between nature, creativity, personal growth, and transformation.
That shared connection to nature has created an ongoing conversation—one approached through different experiences and areas of work, but grounded in a similar belief:
Sometimes transformation begins by reconnecting with what has been around us all along.
