A Journey That Began From Within
Long before Lori Beard began guiding others through personal growth and transformation, she discovered that some of life’s most important work begins within ourselves.
Her interest in human behavior had been present for years, but after raising her children, Beard entered a new season of learning and self-discovery.
With the support of her husband, she pursued studies and training that would eventually lead her into life coaching and clinical hypnosis.
But education brought something she hadn’t necessarily anticipated.
As Beard learned how thoughts, emotions, experiences, and behaviors can shape a person’s life, she began applying those lessons to herself.
In many ways, she became her own first client.
What began as professional development became a deeply personal exploration of healing, self-awareness, responsibility, and change—and eventually the foundation for work that would help others examine their own lives differently.
From Self-Discovery to Self-Mastery
One of the central themes to emerge from Beard’s journey was the idea of self-mastery.
Rather than viewing transformation as something that simply happens to us, her work encourages people to examine the thoughts, emotions, patterns, and choices that influence how they move through life.
That philosophy ultimately became the foundation of her 7 Rs Method, a step-by-step approach she developed to help individuals work through emotional barriers and move toward greater personal freedom.
Her method became the centerpiece of her book, Freedom from Self-Slavery: The 7 Rs Method: A Guide for Self-Mastery and Empowerment.

Published in 2018, the book explores seven steps designed to help readers acknowledge experiences and emotions that may be creating barriers in their lives and begin moving toward greater fulfillment and self-awareness.
For Beard, writing the book provided another way to extend the lessons she had learned through her own transformation—turning personal discovery into a practical resource others could use in theirs.
When Personal Growth Expands Into Family Growth
As Beard’s work evolved, so did the people she felt called to serve.
Her focus increasingly expanded beyond individual self-mastery to the relationships that shape so much of our lives—particularly the relationship between parents and their children.
As a mother of eight, Beard understands family life not simply from the perspective of a coach, but through decades of lived experience.
She has seen the challenges that arise as children grow, families change, communication becomes more complicated, and parents try to balance guidance with allowing young people to discover who they are becoming.
That experience helped inspire a new chapter in her work centered around strengthening youth and families.
The Wisdom In Thy YOUth
Today, Beard’s work through The Wisdom In Thy YOUth reflects her commitment to helping young people and parents navigate questions of faith, purpose, relationships, personal growth, values, and everyday life.
Her message is not simply directed toward youth.
It recognizes that parents are growing, too.
Families are constantly navigating changing seasons, different perspectives, new challenges, and the need to understand one another more deeply.
Through coaching, speaking, digital content, and conversations, Beard encourages families to approach those challenges with greater compassion, communication, wisdom, and faith.
At the heart of the work is a belief that guidance doesn’t have to come from having every answer.
Sometimes it begins by creating a safe place for better questions, meaningful conversations, and genuine connection.
Faith as a Foundation
Faith has become an important foundation in Beard’s current work.
Rather than separating personal development from spiritual growth, she brings the two together—encouraging people to consider how faith, values, personal responsibility, relationships, and purpose influence the choices they make.
Her work with young people has also reflected an interest in creating conversations around spirituality and meaning in a world where many youth are searching for direction in increasingly digital spaces.
Through The Wisdom In Thy YOUth podcast and related content, Beard has explored topics including personal growth, faith, relationships, purpose, ethics, and finding one’s path in life.
Her broader message emphasizes connection and understanding while encouraging young people to develop their character and explore how their beliefs can be carried into everyday life.
More Than One Chapter
Perhaps one of the most meaningful parts of Beard’s story is that her work has not remained static.
She began by studying human behavior.
That journey led to personal healing.
Personal healing led to coaching.
Coaching led to writing and speaking.
And over time, those experiences expanded into a deeper focus on youth, parents, faith, family relationships, and connection.
Each chapter built upon the one before it.
Her earlier work in self-mastery hasn’t disappeared. Instead, it has become part of the foundation for what she does today.
Because strong families are made up of individuals.
Healthy relationships require self-awareness.
And guiding another person often begins with understanding ourselves.
A Life Rooted in Family
For Beard, family isn’t simply a professional topic.
It is deeply personal.
Born in Puerto Rico, she is a bilingual content creator, wife, mother of eight, author, speaker, coach, and facilitator whose own experiences have influenced the direction of her work.
Her family has been woven throughout her personal and professional evolution—from the season when she returned to education after raising her children to the work she now does helping other parents and young people navigate their own journeys.
That gives her message a perspective that extends beyond theory.
It has been lived.
